How could this happen in a modern European democratic state which recognizes the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and enshrines the right to free speech in its Constitution?"

On August 30, Illinois Governor Pat Quinn announced who would serve on his newly-created Muslim American Advisory Council.  Among those chosen wereAhmed Rehab and Safaa Zarzour. The former is the National Strategic Communications Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Executive-Director of its Chicago chapter. The latter is the secretary-general of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and is the chairman of CAIR-Chicago’s board. ISNA is listed in the Brotherhood’s own documents as one of “our organizations and the organizations of our friends.”

Both CAIR and ISNA are Muslim Brotherhood fronts and are listed by the federal government as “unindicted co-conspirators” in the trial of the Holy Land Foundation, which was shut down for financing Hamas. CAIR’s founders belonged to the Islamic Association for Palestine, which was also shut down as a front for Hamas. The two organizations went to court to get their designations lifted, but a judge determined that the government provided “ample evidence” connecting them to Hamas to justify the labels.

In 2007, the federal government said that, “From its founding by Muslim Brotherhood leaders, CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorists” and “the conspirators agreed to use deception to conceal from the American public their connections to terrorists.” In 2009, the FBI ended its outreach programs with CAIR because of the evidence of its involvement with Hamas.

Just imagine how it would be if a similar system was deployed by Russia, say in Mexico? Would make even the Texan sphincter pulsate, eh?
A solution? How about offering a seat or two for some Russians to be alongside in an observation role while NATO or US duty personnel do their screen watching bit?

Major Alliances for Egypt's Parliamentary Elections Democratic Alliance for Egypt:Formed in June 2011, it was the first significant political coalition to emerge after President Hosni Mubarak's February resignation. Egyptian Bloc: The liberal coalition has lost members since its formation in August and now includes only the Free Egyptians, Social Democratic and al-Tagammu parties. The bloc says it hopes to bring together political forces that are committed to a civil democratic state based on a principle of separation between religion and politics. Completing the Revolution Alliance: Formed in October, the alliance includes youth, socialist, liberal and moderate Islamist parties. Most were formerly part of the Egyptian Bloc. Members include the Revolutionary Youth Coalition, the Egypt Freedom Party and the Socialist Popular Alliance Party Yes it's a very nice red one...but if the Brotherhood swing it, that's the last time you'll be let out of the house alone, never mind getting a vote!

Russia: Back Sliding To Old Soviet Ways?

Russian warships that have reached waters off Syria in recent days were carrying, among other things, Russian technical advisors who will help the Syrians set up an array of S-300 missile. Damascus has received in recent weeks, a report in the London-based Arabic language Al Quds-Al Arabi said Thursday. Citing sources in Syria and Russia, the paper said that Moscow sees a Western attack on Syria as a “red line” that it will not tolerate.

Happy Thanksgiving & Cookin' That Big Bird!

Dear All, Needin' any help with that big ol' bird? Some of ma handy hints for the suburban Thanksgiving Day hostess that if followed to the letter will sure make you and your Big T's the envy of that slick bitch next door.    Now...if the bird is film wrapped, always take this off; also it's a good move to make sure the giblets in that wee plastic bag are removed from inside. You'll find them by inserting ones gloved hand up Big T's ample posterior.( If this seems an act of gross indecency for a hostess of delicate persuasion - tell the nearest kid there's a $100 bill up it's ass. It always works.)  Next...always turn the oven on as this action has been found to much improve the bird. Well - lets face it folks - without a good bastin' an' stuffin' Big T has as much flavor as a Big Mac burger box found discarded in an underpass. But I digress. Now...before the beast is offered up for a good roastin' there' s the not inconsiderable question of weight and time. Best to follow my well documented and proven formula on this important day and one that I  swear by. And remember, simple is always the rule. So here's the one that will give that next door neighbor's bird a poke in the eye with a blunt stick. Pencil at the ready? Good. Take the bird's weight and the square root of the velocity of oven entry, times the height, age, color and location of the your kitchen.  The actual cooking temperature is not so important and very much over rated. Retire to the lounge, get a few down your neck with the assembled company and wait and wait and...  Returning to the kitchen, which in but a few short hours will be regarded by the Health and Safety Executive as a not inconsiderable crime scene... you will be the proud though humble hostess about to offer up to the tabled and the well oiled gathering of family and friends, a Best on the Block Bird!  Exquisitely browned and tongue tempting. And... should your guests survive the minor dislocation to their lives from the visitations of salmonella, they'll  forever remember this special day with you their attentive hostess, held in their collective unconscious morgue of memories. Russia May Join NASA-European Mars Mission After Probe Loss - Businessweek: "Russia is talking to NASA and the European Space Agency about participating in two Mars expeditions, in 2016 and 2018, according to Vladimir Popovkin, who heads Russia’s space agency, Roscosmos. It may send exploration equipment along with the missions, or assist with the rocket that launches the ships into space, he said yesterday in an interview in Moscow."
