BBC News - Jerusalem rabbis 'condemn dog to death by stoning': "A Jewish rabbinical court condemned to death by stoning a stray dog it feared was the reincarnation of a lawyer who insulted its judges, reports say."

Now... to put you a little in the picture, something that the BBC doesn't exactly do in their article. This particular group of ultra-Orthodox (they don't like this definition but tough) live in an area of Jerusalem called Mea Shearim. They don't much care for most folk anywhere, including secular Israelis; the feeling being very much mutual. However, I'm not too sure if the would be dog/lawyer stoners belonged to Neturei Karta, who actually don't recognise Israel.  Anyway, here's a thing. Some of the ultra-Orthodox are made most welcome at any of Ahmadinejad's little seminars of intolerance in Tehran, where their mad hatter Mullah counterparts are sure to be in attendance. By now you'll have gathered that they're all more than a smidgen out of their collective boxes.
Worry not. For you won't be seeing any of them any time soon, should you find yourself in any of the many excellent night spots of Tel Aviv.
PS: The dog/lawyer did a runner.
