The Arab League seek solutions as 70 per cent of Arab youth want to emigrate!

 "I look. Really, I look. But there is no job,'' said a young man named Dhouibi. Doing something so common among  young unemployed Arabs that it has earned its own trade name -- the hittistes, meaning in Arabic slang, those who lean up against the wall. 

"Due to their poor participation in society and politics and to rising joblessness, 70 per cent of the Arab youth want to migrate out of the region," Khalid Al Wahishi, director of Population Policy and Immigration at the Arab League said. (Bureau Chief & Gulfnews.com)

Israel currently has almost 4,000 active technology start-ups - more than any other country outside the United States. In 2010 alone the flow of venture capital amounted to $884m (£558m).

The result: high-tech exports from Israel are valued at about $18.4bn a year, making up more than 45% of Israel's exports, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics.

Israel is a world leader in terms of research and development spending as a percentage of the economy; it's top in both the number of start-ups and engineers as a proportion of the population; and it's first in per capita venture capital investment. Bambi Blagojevich?

Arguing for a lighter sentence for former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, (above) his attorney asked U.S. District Judge James Zagel to consider “the devastation that his absence would cause to his family.”
Blagojevich is a loving father who put his two girls first when he was on top of the world as a politician and after his extraordinary fall. A long prison term would damage them, said Blagojevich’s lawyer, Carolyn Gurland.

Geithner Speaks: Expect More Crap and Fan Fun!

Timmy Geithner, US Treasury Secretary and co-wrecker of the US economy, praised the role of the European Central Bank on Tuesday in tackling the eurozone debt crisis. It's just so typical how this Obama incompetent  lending his support to anything, considering his track record in top marks for failure.
If Franco-German plans to create a “fiscal union” to reinforce European monetary union are being cheered on by this chap, I'd be hyper ventilating.

Just do what I say...but for fuck sake, not what I do!

He said that governments and central banks should join forces in tackling the crisis, stressing the need for more action to boost economic growth, alongside longer-term reforms to reinforce the common currency.

Egypt: The Not So Slow Slide Into An Islamist Hell!

The recent clashes between Coptic and Islamic extremist groups, which cost more than 11 dead and hundreds injured, increase the spectrum of what to expect when Islamists are in control of Egypt. Not only the Christian minority now live in fear, but also millions of moderate Muslims, especially women and the poor. "The rise of radical Islamic parties, said the priest will particularly affect widows and mothers abandoned by their husbands, who will not be able to feed and clothe their children." The Muslim Brotherhood and other radical Islamic parties propose an application of Sharia law which prohibits women from working and leaving the house. These days many Muslim women have participated in events organized by the Coptic community in front of the headquarters of the Egyptian state TV, shouted slogans in favor of secularism and against the Islamification of the country. Handcuffed monks with a sign hanging around their neck are dragged away from their monastery. There crime? Demanding religious freedom for Tibet and the return of the Dalai Lama. Shameful and hateful pictures are posted online.

Dharamsala (AsiaNews) – China’s Communist government uses a variety of methods to crush the spirit of those who try to resist Chinese cultural invasion in Tibet. They include anti-riot police dragging handcuffed monks, wearing signs with their name and “crime” around their neck. Church Building? Don't Hold Your Breath!

Jakarta (AsiaNews) - An Islamic extremist group in Pracimantoro, a town in the district of Wonogiri, in central Java, has appealed to local government for the demolition of five Protestant churches in the area. The alarm is launched by Theophilus Bela, human rights activist and promoter of interfaith dialogue, according to whom that the fundamentalists complaint claims the Christian communities lack the building permits (IMB) for places of worship. The tension in the area is steadily increasing, and rumors of threats of demolition, circulating since yesterday evening in a series of documents, is not contributing to calming tempers. Previously, adds the Christian activist, extremist threats have focused on nine other churches in Bekasi regency, West Java.
