The 2017 spring and summer concert lineup in Israel has been announced. The likes of Radiohead, Nick Cave, Fatboy Slim, Robbie Williams, Duran Duran, Tears for Fears, Rod Stewart and The Pixies confirming dates; with Aerosmith and others soon to be. Flights from the UK? There is EL AL from London Heathrow and Easyjet from London Luton.
Gentle parody, occasionally more serious or perhaps just a good kick in the arse of the topical or obscure.

CPB BOO- HOO BABIES!
The liberal media have always had an advantage over conservative media because of their taxpayer subsidies. Indeed, over the years, almost $13 billion has been given by Congress to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. But now, if the Trump administration has its way with the budget, that will end.
“Public Radio and Television Stations Face New Threat of Budget Cuts” is the headline over a Wall Street Journal article about proposed Trump administration budget cuts to the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and public broadcasting.
As I pay a mandatory license fee to the news biased BBC, I have little sympathy for the liberal/lefty hand wringer squawkers. As the top five billionaires in the U.S. lean Left - plus there's the nefarious Soros to tap - the CPB will have little difficulty in raising the moolah!

SCREWING US SOFTLY WITH THEIR BS!
According to an Associated Press analysis of new U.S. data, the Obama administration in its final year in office spent a record $36.2 million on legal costs defending its refusal to turn over federal records under the Freedom of Information Act. The data also showed poor performances in other categories measuring transparency in government.
Outcome? The Obama administration was the biggest enemy of press freedom. EVER!
If any of the above surprises you, one suggestion is to get a lobotomy quickly before the GOP plan removes that option.
The Republicans - who have only had six years to show they can actually do more than piss on Barry's abortion - have still only come up with a health car plan which might have been worked out on the back of the proverbial envelope.

ANOTHER WASTE OF SPACER!
“Whoever acts against Israel should understand the rules of the game have changed,” said Minister of Strategic Affairs Gilad Erdan, as he denied a prominent British boycott activist entry into the country.
Revital Yakin-Karkovsky, a senior ministry official, said Hugh Lanning of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign was prohibited on Sunday from entering Israel because his organization had close ties to the Hamas terror group and was one of the leading forces seeking to delegitimize Israel.
Israel’s Parliament recently passed a law barring entry to supporters of the boycott movement; but why so long in coming? Perhaps if certain politicians in Israel spent less time bad mouthing each other or starting yet another political party with less supporters than a minyan, they could have stopped those tossers entering Israel years ago. BDS and other jihad supporting scum of the world are just Nazi lite types. On hearing the fate of Lamming, predictably the Left and every Musy jerk-off reached for their Human Rights manual.
But hey, not so fast ye fake news spreaders.- the UK Independent in this case. Didn't the current PM of Britain, Theresa May - while holding another political office - ban entry to the UK of Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller? Both from the U.S. and well known for exposing the religion of peace as a dysfunctioning bunch of psycho nihilists. Did Mrs May take umbrage to the truth about Islam leaking into Blighty? Perhaps she believed the Spencer & Geller message would frightened the 'we can take it" Blitz hardened Brits of Britannia. I should coco!
Meanwhile, she gave an open mike invite by allowing a well know Islamist firebrand into Britain; who proceeded to deliver his well rehearsed rant against we infidels.
This creature of darkness was a racing cert to stir up Friday night disco fever among the mosque faithful; as it's not exactly difficult to set dry tinder alight as all happy campers will know.
Every country has the right to keep out those whom it deems undesirable; it's just a pity Mrs May is either totally clueless about the agenda of Islam, or she's an arch appeaser.

DEMOCRACY? NOPE, IT'S ALLAH FOR US!
And so they waited while Abu Omar lit his pipe, turned the crank and sat to enjoy the music on his broken bed, in his ruined room, in his destroyed home, in his obliterated city, in his fractured country. “He played one of his favorite songs,” Eid adds, an old Arabic tune by Syrian singer Mohamed Dia al-Din. “He is so attached to his past and to the things that he always cherished and loved, and without them he will lose his identity,” Eid says...
The above sentimental tripe was in TIME; the same folk who no doubt got all orgasmic about that Arab Spring thing a few years back. What is it about the liberal tendency; why do they always exhibit a reality bypass?
Anyone who had some first grader knowledge of Arabs and the middle east could have told Time, Newsweek and the rest of the reality lite brigade, that millions of loonies let loose to peddle their 50 shades of 7th century Islam, wouldn't turn into some cozy Sunday supplement read.
However, the liberal tendency never ever learn; hence open border Europe.

WHAT ARE FRB'S DADDY?
FRB's are fast radio bursts originating from distant galaxies, billions of light-years away. They are mysterious and rarely detected bursts of radio emission that have durations of milliseconds. These events emit as much energy in one millisecond as the Sun emits in 10,000 years, but the physical phenomenon that causes them is still totally unknown.
The first FRB was discovered in 2007, although it was actually observed some six years earlier, in archival data from a pulsar survey of the Magellanic Clouds. Only 18 FRBs have ever been detected to date and mostly give off only a single burst and don't flash repeatedly. Some of the brainy folk have even speculated that some super advanced alien intelligence may have built something which could power interstellar light sails.
The amount of power involved would be sufficient to push a payload of a million tons, or about 20 times the largest cruise ships on Earth.“That’s big enough to carry living passengers across interstellar or even intergalactic distances,” Dr. Lingam said. To power a light sail, the transmitter would need to focus a beam on it continuously.
Observers on Earth would see a brief flash because the sail and its host planet, star and galaxy are all moving relative to us. As a result, the beam sweeps across the sky and only points in our direction for a moment. Repeated appearances of the beam, which were observed but cannot be explained by cataclysmic astrophysical events, might provide important clues about its artificial origin.
Hmm...even if some alien civilization did build this baby to power interstellar light sails, or reheat a pot of Irish stew; we are looking back in time to something that was conceived billions of years before our solar system even existed.

AMERICA'S HEALTH CARE DEBACLE!
'Affordable Care Act revision would reduce insured numbers by 24 million, CBO projects', so writes the Washington Post.
But shouldn't the real and only story worth discussing among Americans is why is it the only democracy in the western hemisphere that thinks the health of its citizens should be regarded as a profit making enterprise?
Health care and how it would be funded in the UK, ceased to be an issue 70 years ago with the founding of the NHS; the National Health Service. There are also private health companies with their own hospitals etc which many UK citizens are prepared to pay a monthly subscription - or just pay for a one off procedure. Perhaps a unique feature of the UK system is that one will find the very same consultants and doctors working in the NHS also in private health care practice.
To fund health care free at the point of entry in the UK, everyone pays into a common pot on a sliding scale, dependent on ones gross income. And yes, it's the government who collect the moolah; but here's how it works.
Each hospital is given a sum of money dependent on certain criteria: e.g. size of hospital, whether a specialist facility, location, in a city, etc. It is then up to the management of each health facility to budget for the needs of that particular hospital or GP practice; NOT the government.
American's seem to choke on the idea of government as tax collector around issues of health; but doesn't the US government act as tax collector to divvy up for defense etc? Do Americans call that socialism? Nope. So what's their problem when it comes to anything related to health?
There is something rather 19th century capitalist thinking in America that everything should turn a profit; but in the 21st century, health care really shouldn't be one of them.
