Saturday Song # 5

The Undertones.
Featured track: Teenage Kicks. (Should be played LOUD on good speakers/headphones)
The Undertones were a punk rock/new wave band formed in Derry, Northern Ireland, in 1975. From the period of 1975 to 1983, the Undertones consisted of Feargal Sharkey (vocals), John O'Neill (rhythm guitar, vocals), Damian O'Neill (lead guitar, vocals), Michael Bradley (bass, vocals) and Billy Doherty (drums). Although much of the earlier Undertones material drew influence from punk rock and new wave, the Undertones also incorporated elements of rock, glam rock and post-punk into material released after 1979, before citing soul and Motown as the influence for the material released upon their final album. On 26 October,1978 the Undertones performed Teenage Kicks live on the UK TV's Top Of The Pops - with the influence and support of  BBC DJ *John Peel (who had also recorded and broadcast a Peel Sessions with the Undertones on the 16th). In the early 1990s Sharkey moved into the business side of the music industry, initially as A&R for Polydor Records. He has held many positions in the music industry: appointed a member of the Radio Authority for five years; chairman of the UK Government task force the 'Live Music Forum' and in 2008, Sharkey was appointed as the CEO of British Music Rights. He has won many awards among them; the "Scott Piering Award", by the radio industry; the "Bottle Award", at the International Live Music Conference for "outstanding contribution to the live music industry". He was awarded  Honorary "Doctor of Arts", by the University of Hertfordshire;and he received a Doctor of Letters honoris causa from the University of Ulster in recognition of his services to music. In 2010 he appeared in Wired's The Wired 100: "Who are the people who shape the Wired world," at number 45.

*John Robert Parker Ravenscroft, OBE (30 August 1939 – 25 October 2004), known professionally as John Peel, was an English disc jockey, radio presenter, record producer and journalist. Starting his career in the USA, he returned to the UK and became a much loved institution; was a tirless champion of then unknown bands, and was the longest-serving of the original BBC Radio 1 DJs, broadcasting regularly from 1967 until his death in 2004. He was known for his eclectic taste in music, his quiet humor and honest, warm, self effacing broadcasting style. He was one of the first broadcasters to play psychedelic rock and progressive rock records on British radio, and he is widely acknowledged for promoting artists working in various genres, including pop, reggae, indie rock, alternative rock, punk, hardcore punk, breakcore, grindcore, death metal, British hip hop, and dance music.
J.P.'s home studio.
Peel's Radio 1 shows were notable for the regular 'Peel sessions', which usually consisted of four songs recorded by an artist live in the BBC's studios, and which often provided the first major national coverage to bands that later would achieve great fame. (These 'sessions' are similar to 'Live Lounge' sessions recorded today for the station.) Another popular feature of his shows was the annual Festive Fifty countdown of his listeners' favourite records of the year.
Peel appeared occasionally on British television as one of the presenters of Top of the Pops and he provided voice-over commentary for a number of BBC programmes. He became popular with the audience of BBC Radio 4 for his Home Truths programme, which ran from the 1990s, featuring unusual stories from listeners' domestic lives.
John Peel.
Peel's funeral, on 12 November 2004, in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, was attended by over a thousand people, including many of the artists he had championed. Eulogies were read by his brother, Alan Ravenscroft, and Paul Gambaccini ( born in New York and nicknamed 'The Professor of Pop' - see him in Wikipedia). The service ended with clips of him talking about his life and his coffin was carried out to the accompaniment of his favourite song, The Undertones' "Teenage Kicks". Peel had written that, apart from his name, all he wanted on his gravestone were the words, "Teenage dreams, so hard to beat", from the lyrics of "Teenage Kicks". A headstone engraved in accordance with his wishes was placed at his grave in 2008. Peel is buried at St Andrew's Church, in the village of Great Finborough, Suffolk, England. Syria's Burning? Oh There IS a Surprise!

Iraq warns al-Qaida flowing into Syria!

Oh dear, Abul...you've just gone an' done a biggish ALLAHU AKBAR
on the friggin' mosque!
Many al-Qaida insurgents are streaming out of the country to carry out attacks in Syria, an ominous development as the Syrian conflict enflames an already hostile region. The militants are taking advantage of the chaos and the violence gripping Syria, which the head of the country's U.N. observer mission said on Thursday had reached "unprecedented levels." (AP)
This is so typical of that bunch of scrotums from the UN. Squawking about "unprecedented violence" when  one set of fucking Islamists is giving the other set of totalitarian Arabs a goodly seeing too.
The UN more or less sat on it's hands while genocide in Darfur was being carried out by the Islamist Death Cult Crew, against hundreds of thousands of non Muslim men, women and children.
As far as I'm concerned, as long as one side of the Plague of Islam is doing in the other, then they aren't bringing their demented, barbarian 7th century asses to OUR shores!
Memo to the Muslim Brotherhood: Egypt next, please!
PS: Q: from the NYT and similar: But...but...what about the movement for democracy?
A: They got out of that hell hole of a country times ago, you plonkers.

More Dangerous Than The Nazis? YEP!

Today, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Salafis, the
Wahhabis and all the other followers of the
Koran have the keys of the Arab world.
The Nazis called it “Lebensraum.” The Islamists call it “Caliphate.”
An article by Giulio Meotti. The new president of Egypt, Mohammed Morsi, is a "pious" revolutionary whose message has always been very simple: “Islam is the solution.” The real Egyptian people were not the secularists described by hypocritical and gullible Western media and journalists based in Tahrir Square. Instead, they are the people revealed in a recent Pew poll: 54% believe men and women should be segregated in the workplace; 82% believe adulterers should be stoned; 84% believe apostates from Islam should face the death penalty; 77% believe thieves should be flogged or have their hands cut off. That’s why the new Islamic rulers will try to impose the veil on women, ban alcohol and attack the cold peace with Israel. That’s why the most important Arab country will move toward a theocratic and very anti-Western position.

The Muslim Brotherhood want to change society and the individual in the name of a totalitarian ideology. They have waited 80 years to seize the power, while their worldview was forged in the Arabian desert 1,300 years ago. To become a “Brother,” an Ikhwan, one must pass through eight years of training. It’s like joining Heinrich Himmler’s SS. And like the Hitlerist special forces that were at war with Judaism, cosmopolitism, communism and democracy, the Islamic Brothers are at war with individualism, modernism, consumerism, materialism, tolerance, subjectivism, rationalism, paganism, Judaism and Christianity. Like the SS, the Muslim Brotherhood divide reality into *Light and Darkness, Spirit and Matter, Islamic and non-Islamic.
French philosopher Christian Godin wrote that Islamism is far more dangerous than either Nazism or Communism, since the latter, despite their genocidal follies, presupposed their own preservation. For the Hitlerists, the “inferior race” does not deserve to exist; for the Stalinist, the “enemy of the people” does not merit to continue living.
For the Islamist, it is the world itself
that does not deserve to exist.
The Islamists will want to build a haven for Muslim bearded men, which will turn out to be a hell for women, Jews, Christians, unbelievers, atheists, converts and all the free men and women. More and more Copts will leave the country, walking in the streets of Cairo will become increasingly dangerous and the border with Israel will be open to rockets, salafism and beheaders.
One year ago the Muslim Brotherhood’s supreme guide, Mohammed Badie, proclaimed: “We will continue on the path of Qutb.” Few “experts” (the likes of the NYT ,CNN,the BBC and similar fans of the Arab Spring) (my italics) understood the deep meaning of this statement. He was talking about the “Mein Kampf of Islamism.” The text circulated clandestinely for years and was later banned (though since the Islamist victory, not any more!) (my italics).
Qutb had written that the only way to get rid of “corruption” is the imposition of his idea of a “just rule”. Which translates to war with modernity, human rights, non-Muslims and Zionism. Like Adolf Hitler, Qutb was a dark man, humorless, intense and rigid. Like Hitler, Qutb turned his sexual frustration into a fanatic virtue. Like Hitler’s Aryanism, Qutb heralded the notion that Islam is superior. Like Hitler, Qutb saw the existence of the Hebrew people as a danger.
After six decades of Arab kleptocracy, the Middle East is going to be engineered according to Qutb’s nightmare. Symbols help to understand the mindset. That of the Muslim Brotherhood (above) is a Koran and two sharp swords. In 2005 they published a map of the world.
In the center is a green area, the color of Islam. In a lower panel it said:
“One hundred years from now,” with the field completely green. (C) Giulio Meotti
*The Nazis believed the Hebrews represented the forces of "Light" therefore they continued with their program of genocide even at the expense of military considerations and their now certain defeat.

Higgs: Enter The "God Particle"..,

Speaking to a packed audience Wednesday morning in Geneva, CERN director general Rolf Heuer confirmed that two separate teams working at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are more than 99 percent certain they've discovered the Higgs boson, aka the God particle—or at the least a brand-new particle exactly where they expected the Higgs to be.
Artist impression of Higgs.
The long-sought particle may complete the standard model of physics by explaining why objects in our universe have mass—and in so doing, why galaxies, planets, and even humans have any right to exist.
At the meeting were four theorists who helped develop the Higgs theory in the 1960s, including Peter Higgs himself, who could be seen wiping away tears as the announcement was made.(Natgeo)

The Muslim Brotherhood: Gagging For Armageddon...

The Makeover of Mohammed Morsi!

The makeover of Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi has begun. Some in the media are “debunking” the frightening “myths” about the **Muslim Brotherhood, and others argue that he’s a potential ally. The Obama administration continues to infer that critics of the Brotherhood are simply alarmed by the word “Muslim” in the group’s name.
Salaam: I shall help fulfill the dream of Safwat Hegazy.
“We judge individuals and parties that are elected in a democratic process by their actions, not by their religious affiliations,” said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney when asked about the Muslim Brotherhood.
During the campaign, a hardline cleric named Safwat Hegazy spoke at one of Morsi’s campaign rally. He declared, “We are seeing the dream of the Islamic Caliphate come true at the hands of Mohammed Morsi” and “the capital of the Caliphate and the United Arab States is Jerusalem.” Morsi nodded his head, only feet away. At the same rally, a speaker performed a song that told Muslims to “brandish your weapons, say your prayers.” He sang, “Come on, you lovers of martyrdom, banish the sleep from the eyes of all Jews. Come on, you lovers of martyrdom, you are all Hamas. Indeed, all the lovers of martyrdom are Hamas.”(C) Ryan Mauro (Photo:Copyright Control)
When the Newt said that Obama was the most dangerous President for America ever, he wasn't talking about his choice in music.
