Yucca Mountain And Decommissioning.

Nuclear energy. It's guaranteed to start an argument. Even two Met fans will throw the tail end of a hot dog at one another. But who, except for the boffins actually knows much about the different types of reactors and what the cost is for decommissioning and storage of the spent fuel?

In 1987, Congress chose Yucca Mountain, a 230 sq mile site in Nevada. Near to $12 billion was spent in developing this geologically sound facility in order to safely store spent fuel permanently, or to have it used in some future fusion reactor when nuclear energy can be produced without the downside of radiation. In the meantime, the US Energy Dept under Obama's administration has canceled the funding for the Yucca Mountain facility.

As most folk will be aware, Obama likes to meddle in things he knows squit about, but will quite happily throw 500 million tax dollars away on his pet projects; eg a solar company that was about to go bust. But I digress...

Motorola Razr: Beads And Trinkets...

Motorola revives Razr as part of new Droid: "The original Razr made quite the fashion statement back in the day because of its extremely svelte design. The new Android smartphone picks up on that legacy; Droid Razr is a mere 7.1mm thin, or just over a quarter of an inch.

Humans haven't changed at all since bubbles, beads and some shiny anything did it for them. Or perhaps it was a show from Dr Doom, promising eternal life with just one swig from the bottle of his new snake oil;  usually flogged to the inter bred dims from the back of a covered wagon.
But now it's a thinner, smarter, lighter and it even knows more than the sucker who'll cradle baby Droid/iPhone or whatever for at least six months. These are now just some of the 21st century equivalents.
Oh well, I suppose should be glad that the I-must-have-a-new-whatever folk are helping to keep us from the scary double dip which still hovers just over the horizon.

Comies, Nazis Backing Occupy Wall Street!

The Communist Party and the Nazi Party (old friends from the start of WW2 before they fell out) have now announced on their web sites that they are standing in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street.

So it's not just the Great Unwashed and Bewildered Parties that are at Operation Crapout.  If you're between the ages of 18 and 25 maybe you've some excuse for being there as your right of passage: but now it really is the unsavory anti Semites, and defecating  politically dysfunctional that are in the mix; all united in their common hatred of anything that's not them.

A lot of Wall Street are a bunch of tossers who need sorting out in the penitentiary: but if this putrid swill of anarchy are the vanguard of the alternative on offer: give me the Wall Street fuckers any day!

Animals Shrinking, We're Expanding!

Rising global temperatures (if indeed they actually are) and changes. Whither as the result of too many of us folks likin' a nice warm house, or old mother nature doing what it has always done; world weather patterns have always been a restless spirit.
During dino time, core samples show that for almost 200 million years there was no ice...ANYWHERE. Then there's the mite chilly Snowball Earth period lasting for millions of years; miles high ice sheets covered all but a titchy bit around the equator.

Now...not a lot of people know this...before all this friggin' ice came, I
 was a grizzly bear. Honest! You just check my DNA, tree-hugger.

Wither it's the earth tilting back and forth for aeons on it's long haul around the sun, big rocks and comets from the sky whacking us or mad volcanic action going on; one way or another mass species extinctions are par for the course.
You see all you Green Party folk and Al Gore fans who seem to be consummed by your own self importance; banging on endlessly about the survival of the planet when actually it's your own ego and survival that motivates you. As proven, the planet will be just fine long after homo sapiens' demise.
Geologically, we are still in an Ice Age. But if warming comes, (with or without our participation) the big fury white bear and the penguins of Antarctica will of course be headed one day to that great extinction.
We're not really that important, or our influences so great in the scheme of things. Four billion years of climate change and we as a species not as much as a cosmic consideration in the great events that have shaped our planet. Lighten up Greenies and enjoy your moment in the sun...

Perhaps Mr B Todd, who perhaps grew up with this band, can put this aside for a mo. There are many bands of every genre who over the last five decades are a tad more entitled to any influential accolades that are being passed around. But happy listening anyway B.T.

Ricky P's Job Plan!

Rick Perry jobs plan: Make rest of America more like Texas - CSMonitor.com: "Perry is putting forth his proposal, which he named "Energizing American Jobs and Security," at a time his campaign needs a boost. In recent weeks he has been outflanked by the rise of Herman Cain, whose "9-9-9" plan for tax reform has found broad appeal. And Perry has hurt his own candidacy with weak performances in TV debates.
A risk is that his emphasis on energy will seem narrow-bore and predictable (any surprise that a Texas governor likes domestic oil production?). Perry made a point of noting that he has other pieces of his economic plan on the way, including proposals for a tax-code overhaul, entitlement reform, and taming federal deficits. And by going into detail on energy, Perry arguably can show supporters that he's prepared to lead in a new direction on an important national issue."

Ricky's 20-20-20 plan (well it's a Texas we're-bigger-then-any-other-state thing); his 20 thingy will soon be expanded to astound us all. According to Ricky, if only the rest of the malingering states would just ware silly big hats and boots that'd cripple a pair of wooden chair legs, these United States would be back big time. That fact that even if they drill baby drill, making the US look like a block of Swiss cheese, it takes years to get any field online...and... it's fantasy figures regarding the amount of jobs it will actually create. But at least, it's a plan that eventually would put Jonny Arab and the Price Fixers' noses out...so it's worth doing just for that alone!

My  fellow OPEC friends...the $500 barrel has just been voted a big YES!
