New thinking on the Israeli-Palestinian peace process: towards a hybrid approach. The peace process is currently at an impasse. Bringing the parties together for another intensive effort at reaching a deal will not succeed. New thinking and creative solutions are required. so saith the "experts".

It is not "new thinking" that is needed. It a change in the Palestinian mentality. However, to achieve this lofty goal requires giving a lobotomy to a few million Muslim Arabs - which would entail a whole lot of time and expense with the outcome still very uncertain.

The author Herb London - a no waffle man - once tried to make a couple of previous U.S. presidents understand something fundamental; that the problem wasn't about land, final borders or the status of Jerusalem. Nope.The problem was, and has always been, the inability of the Palestinian Muslims EVER to accept a small Jewish state along side one of their own. 
Israel will remain the only democracy in the middle east, perhaps for the rest of the 21st century.

What one might not read in the likes of the biased NYT, the UK Guardian or see reported in other media such as the BBC and CNN, is that elite Israeli troops rescue wounded Syrians from the war zone almost every night; that they have saved more than 2,000 people since 2013 at a financial cost to Israel of £8.7million and that many are enemies of Israel and some may even be fighters for groups affiliated to Al Qaeda.

It is unclear how the two enemies arrange the rescue. All that has been disclosed is that word reaches Israeli forces that casualties have been dumped at the border, intelligence establishes that it is not a trap, and the commandos are sent in. Officially, Israel says that this operation is part of its programme of humanitarianism, which has provided aid to a long list of countries from Haiti to Nepal. Palestinian civilians are also regular patients at Israeli hospitals such as the Rambam Medical Centre in Haifa.

A spokesman pointed out that about 20 per cent of the Syrians treated by Israel are civilians. MailOnline witnessed Israeli army medics treating a sick two-month-old baby and a middle-aged man who had suffered a heart attack, both of whom were evacuated across the Syrian border by the commandos. In October, a Tel Aviv hospital even treated Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas' brother-in-law, and last year it treated the daughter of the Hamas leader, Ismail Haniyeh who seeks Israel's destruction.

Rasmea Odeh is a big hero of the Left. She's also a terrorist fraudster who lied when filling out her naturalization papers and will be required to plead guilty to violating 18 U.S.C §1425(a) which criminalizes knowingly procuring naturalization contrary to law. She will also be stripped of her U.S. citizenship and deported but will not have to serve jail time.

I listened to the usual hand wringing and speechifying from PM May & Co about yet another outrage in London; concluding that most western politicians still continue on their Denial Tour. Ninety five percent of western politicians should have the above stuck on their fridge or drinks cabinet door to remind them of the truth about Islam, which I invite anyone to read: because they'll find it in the Koran!

Chuck Berry -  who only just scrapped across the nine decade line - has gone. 

Singer, songwriter and guitar great who practically defined rock music with his impeccably twangy hits “Maybellene,” “Roll Over Beethoven,” “Memphis,” “My Ding-a-Ling” and “Sweet Little Sixteen,” Anther Berry classic,“Johnny B. Goode” was chosen by Carl Sagan to be included on the golden record of Earth Sounds and Music launched with Voyager in 1977.

While many songs of the '50s were mostly "moon and June", Berry wrote real life. He and Little Richard were singing about shagging and cross dressers right under our whitie noses. 
Berry of course being a black man, was ripped off big time in a biz that attracts more crocs and venomous snakes than you'll find up the Amazon. 
Without Berry and black blues artists: no Stones or Beatles.

MEL GIBSON: IS HE FAKING IT?

WHAT ARE FRB'S DADDY?

AMERICA'S HEALTH CARE DEBACLE!

But shouldn't the real and only story worth discussing among Americans is why is it the only democracy in the western hemisphere that thinks the health of its citizens should be regarded as a profit making enterprise?
Health care and how it would be funded in the UK, ceased to be an issue 70 years ago with the founding of the NHS; the National Health Service. There are also private health companies with their own hospitals etc which many UK citizens are prepared to pay a monthly subscription - or just pay for a one off procedure. Perhaps a unique feature of the UK system is that one will find the very same consultants and doctors working in the NHS also in private health care practice.

To fund health care free at the point of entry in the UK, everyone pays into a common pot on a sliding scale, dependent on ones gross income. And yes, it's the government who collect the moolah; but here's how it works.

Each hospital is given a sum of money dependent on certain criteria: e.g. size of hospital, whether a specialist facility, location, in a city, etc. It is then up to the management of each health facility to budget for the needs of that particular hospital or GP practice; NOT the government.

American's seem to choke on the idea of government as tax collector around issues of health; but doesn't the US government act as tax collector to divvy up for defense etc? Do Americans call that socialism? Nope. So what's their problem when it comes to anything related to health?
There is something rather 19th century capitalist thinking in America that everything should turn a profit; but in the 21st century, health care really shouldn't be one of them.

 For $15.3 billion, Intel Corp said on Monday that it has agreed to buy the Israeli company, Mobileye; a Jerusalem based developer of advanced vision and driver assistance systems. Intel hopes this will position the company as a leading technology player in the fast-growing self-driving car market.
Mobileye develops the sensors and artificial intelligence that allow a vehicle’s on-board computer to essentially know where it is in relation to other vehicles, pedestrians and the surroundings - the key technologies needed for cars to eventually safely drive themselves. The deal, the largest ever purchase of an Israeli high-tech company, was hailed across Israel as a sign of the country’s technological prowess.
What a future: not only governments and smart underpants telling you off, the car will have some smarmy sounding woman going tut, tut, tut if you even think about taking the wheel. Oh...I forgot...there won't be one! And I read somewhere some geek "expert" wittering about AI and no more traffic jams in LA. Yeah, right; this I must see.

I'm no Luddite, but there are many even among those who are driving us towards tomorrow, that have concerns. Super-intelligence - an IQ of 10,000 has been mentioned - doesn't always mean super-compassion. Why would the bots and self code writing quantum entities allow we organics to exist in their future? A simple experiment with apples has already shown that bots - left to their own devises - behave very much like we humans. Not exactly a good omen for us I'd say...

It appears that the social media platform Facebook practices a double standard. Well, as it's got Zuckerbumi, an arch lefty as it's general, no surprises there, then.

(Start-Up, March 1) The British government announced today the launch of a global network of tech hubs, based on the successful model of the UK Israel Tech Hub that operates out of its embassy in Israel. The network was announced today as part of a new Digital Strategy focusing on expanding digital skills in the UK. The strategy includes the creation of five international tech hubs in emerging markets, based on the UK Israel Tech Hub model founded in Israel five years ago. The new hubs will create and develop partnerships between UK companies and local tech firms. Since its creation, the UK Israel Tech Hub has facilitated over 80 bilateral tech partnerships, with a deal value of £62 million.

The UK Israel Tech Hub was founded in the UK Embassy in Tel Aviv in 2011, aimed at promoting tech and innovation partnerships between the two countries. The Hub focuses on several areas with high potential for partnerships, such as online retail and fintech, biomed, cyber, mobility, smart cities, cleantech, educational technologies, creative industries and Arabic online content. The Hub is based at the British Embassy in Tel Aviv and in London. Its Director is Naomi Krieger Carmi and the Chairman is Haim Shani.

Opposition leader Herzog warned on Monday night that Israel should prepare itself for the possibility that Jews may flee to the Jewish State to escape anti-Semitism in Western nations.
“I call on the government to urgently prepare and draw up a national emergency plan for the possibility of waves of immigration of our Jewish brothers to Israel,” Herzog said at a meeting of the Zionist Union Knesset faction which he leads.
Herzog expressed shock and strongly condemned the outbreak of anti-Semitic incidents that have taken place over the last several months in the United States, France and other Western nations.
